JFK & EWR Airline Surcharge Rate Adjustment

Over two years ago Air Ground Xpress along with its operational agents initiated an $18.00 flat rate per shipment Airline Surcharge at JFK and EWR airports to offset the waiting time experienced recovering and dropping shipments at the airlines.   We find it necessary given the present situation to adjust that fee to $25.00 effective Monday April 6, 2020.  As with any increase in cost it isn’t taken lightly and AGX will always continues it efforts in being as efficient as possible for our customers. 

This single cost approach allows AGX to avoid the need to invoice Airport waiting/detention time on the shipment tender or recovery directly from the airlines in JFK & EWR.  Reconfirming that this charge doesn’t apply to 3PL’s, Forwarder’s or Broker’s warehouses.
